Everywhere you look now days, there seems to be more and more advertising about starting a home business. You hear it on the radio. You see it on TV. It’s allover the newspapers and there are even several magazines dedicated to the new home business entrepreneur.
With more and more people jumping in to the home business arena everyday you have to wonder if it is truly the revolution they say it is and is it as easy as they claim?
Most of the ads I see are full of hype and are promoting unsubstantiated assertions in regard to the earnings potential. That’s why I always say it pays to read the earnings disclaimer that is usually hidden somewhere at the bottom of their sales page.
It is a hard cold fact that most people (about 95%) will fail miserably with a new home business start up. This brings us to the inevitable question: Just who is making all the money in this supposed home business revolution
I can tell you first hand that it is not as easy as most of the home business promoters will claim. But it is possible to make a great living with a home business. The problem most people run into when starting a business at home that they just don’t know how to market their product or service.
The Internet has made it more affordable to advertise your business but it hasn’t made it any easer. And with the growing number of people jumping into the Internet business, marketing is getting harder and harder all the time. There are many hard and fast rules about marketing you need to understand before you proceed with your campaign.
For instance: a one-time ad rarely ever works. People need to see the same ad or website several times before they are willing trust the company behind it.
